Chief Financial Officer

A newly created executive leadership position, driving change in a dynamic operating environment.


A wholly Tasmanian aged care provider with over 45 years’ experience, Southern Cross Care (Tas) Inc provide a range of living options and services in all regions of the State, including residential or respite care, independent retirement living and a range of home care services across the state.

Having experienced significant and sustained growth in recent years, Southern Cross Care Tasmania has partnered with Red Giant to appoint the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer.

As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.

Working closely with the CEO and Board, this pivotal executive position will ensure the development and delivery of key strategic objectives.  An opportunity to add value at a strategic level and drive change, you will have proven experience leading finance teams and contributing to an Executive.  You will bring a commitment to a client-focused approach and demonstrated capability partnering with leaders and their teams to proactively build capability to drive improved outcomes and through the delivery of business-enabling services you will build robust frameworks to support future growth of the business.

This position requires an experienced leader and finance professional with a proven track record for providing financial management and oversight in a dynamic environment.  Tertiary qualifications in finance or commerce combined with a current CA or CPA accreditation is essential.

Whilst desirable, experience in the aged care sector is not essential.
